Frequently Asked Questions

How many times can I take the Final Exam?
You will have two chances to pass the final exam with a passing score of 75% or greater. If you don’t pass on your second attempt you will be required to re-enroll for the course.
How long are the certifications good for and when do I need to renew or re-certify?
The recognized re-certification period for professionals using the course material is (3) three years. Users should get re-certified every three years to remain current.
How long is a purchase valid (i.e. access / expiration)?

Once you have purchased and registered for the course online you have 6 months (180 days) to complete the course.  After 6 months, registration expires.

Bulk Purchases: If you have purchased multiple courses and have received course codes for your agency the following applies:

Course codes are valid for the registration of a single course for 1 year from the time of purchase. This doesn’t include the  time to complete the course.  Therefore, you have 1 year to register from time of purchase and 6 months from time of registration to complete the course.

Course Expiration: Once a user registers for a course that user has 6 months to complete the course. After 6 months if the user has not completed the course the registration expires.

Can I go back and view the course and it's material once I have completed the final exam?
Once you have completed a course by either passing or failing the final exam, your course ends. You will need to re-register to view the material.
Do I get a manual with the course?
Courses that are pre-load courses and part of a technical course may also come with a manual. This depends on the course. Users of the SRT-1 Preload packaged with the SRT-1 technician course will also receive the offical SRT-1 Manual. Copies of the manual will be issued by the in field instructor. The AWR Awareness level course does not currently have a manual.
How long does the course take to complete?

Times will vary with prior knowledge of the subject and aptitude.
AWR – Swiftwater and Flood Awareness Certification   –    Approximate Course Time: 3 hrs   44 mins      Approximate Completion Time:  6-8 hours

SRT – 1 Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Unit One  –    Approximate Course Time: 7 hrs   44 mins      Approximate Completion Time:  8-12 hours

Are the chapter quizzes counted towards the final passing score for this course?
No. Take the practice quizzes as many times as you would like. They are for you to use to help gauge your readiness for the final exam only. They will not be counted towards your passing the final exam.
Do I have to watch the chapters in order?
No. Watch the chapters in any order you like.
How will I know I have passed the Final Exam?
You will receive an email from Earth Experience, stating you have passed the Rescue3 Online Certification Course. This will include the date of passing and your certification number.
How many times can I watch each chapter?
Watch as many times as you need to. Then take the final exam.

01. Minimum System Requirements for accessing the site and viewing the videos?

In general we support and recommend installing the latest version of your operating system and browser and fully support Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer. Windows minimum versions:

  • Operating System: Windows 7 (64 bit) and later
  • Browsers: Minimum versions supported – Internet Explorer 9, Firefox 22, Chrome 17, Opera 12
  • Ensure you have enabled JavaScript & cookies.

Mac minimum versions:

  • Operating System:  Mac OS X 10.6 and later
  • Browser:  Minimum versions supported Safari 7, Firefox 9, Chrome 36, Opera 11.64
  • Ensure you have enabled JavaScript & cookies.

02. How our videos are delivered?

Bandwidth – A note on your internet connection (required bandwidth for videos):

Or videos are streamed dynamically meaning that the system recognizes your current connnection and adjusts the video quality to support the best mix of quality and speed.  By default HD is not activated but you may select the HD icon in the lower right corner of the video player to increase the quality to HD (High Definition).  You will need an internet connection with sufficient bandwidth as videos require more than other internet offerings. videos work best with a downstream bandwidth of at least 1 Mbps.  If you are studying our videos at public places like a library, airport or hotel be aware that these locations may have limited bandwidth and many connected users all vying for bandwidth.

How do I buy multiple licenses for my organization or agency and how does that work?

Course Packs of 50 or 100 can be purchased directly online.  Click Here.  If you would like to purchase multiple courses between 2 and 49 please Click Here.  This Product will allow you to select the number of courses you need and we will send you course registration codes.    We can also take a corporate credit card or Purchase Order with pre-approval.  Contact Support for Credit Application.


Is the certificate issued from Rescue3?

Upon successfully completing a Rescue3 certification course you will receive an official certificate issued from Rescue 3 and your certification name, date and course will be recorded by Rescue2.  The Certificate is recognized valid for 3 years.
